This policy explains how Maktuno Suit trading as UNBOUND ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you visit getunbound.co.uk or purchase our products and services. It also explains how we use cookies. We are the data controller for the purposes of UK GDPR. If you have questions, contact us at hello@getunbound.co.uk.
What data we collect
We collect personal data you provide directly to us: your name and email address when you sign up, make a purchase, or book a one-to-one session; payment information processed securely through our payment provider (we do not store your card details); responses to our online assessment tool, which may include information about your personal habits and wellbeing; and anything you share by email or during one-to-one sessions.
We also collect limited technical data automatically when you visit our site, including your IP address, browser type, and pages visited. This is collected via cookies. See the Cookies section below.
Special category data
Some information you share, particularly through the assessment or in one-to-one sessions, relates to your sexual behaviour, mental health, or personal wellbeing. Under UK GDPR this is classified as special category data and is subject to higher levels of protection.
We process this data only on the basis of your explicit consent. We do not share it with any third party, including healthcare providers, employers, family members, or government bodies, except where we are legally required to do so or where there is a serious risk of harm to you or another person. Our full approach to confidentiality is set out in our Confidentiality Policy.
How we use your data
We use your data to provide the services you have requested, process payments, conduct one-to-one sessions, and communicate with you about your purchase or booking. Where you have consented, we use it to send you updates and resources. We use anonymised and aggregated data to understand how our service is being used and to improve it.
We do not sell your data. We do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling. We do not share it with advertisers.
Third-party processors
We use the following third-party services to operate the programme. Each acts as a data processor on our instructions and is bound by GDPR-compliant data processing agreements.
Squarespace: website hosting and e-commerce (squarespace.com/privacy)
Fill: assessment and quiz tool (fillout.com/help/gdpr)
Stripe: payment processing (stripe.com/gb/privacy)
Google Workspace: email communications and business tools (workspace.google.com/terms/dpa_terms.html)
Calendly: session booking (calendly.com/privacy)
WhatsApp (Meta): private group communications, where applicable (whatsapp.com/legal/privacy-policy)
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data with any third party for marketing purposes.
How long we keep your data
Purchase records are retained for six years in line with HMRC requirements. Email contact details are retained until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you. Assessment responses are retained for twelve months unless you request earlier deletion. One-to-one session notes are retained for seven years in line with professional practice standards, after which they are securely deleted.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to correct inaccurate data, to request deletion, to withdraw consent at any time, to object to processing, and to data portability. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@getunbound.co.uk. We will respond within 30 days.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember information about your visit, for example, whether you have accepted the cookie banner, or which pages you have viewed.
We use essential cookies that are necessary for the website to operate correctly, including cookies that remember your consent preference and session cookies that keep you logged in during a visit. These cannot be switched off without affecting how the site works.
We may also use analytics cookies to understand how visitors interact with the site, including which pages are most visited, how long people spend, and where they come from. This data is anonymous and aggregated. It does not identify you personally.
If our site includes embedded content from third parties such as video players or booking tools, those services may set their own cookies. We do not control these. You can find details in the privacy policies of the relevant providers.
When you first visit our site, you will be asked to accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can change your preferences at any time via the Cookie Settings option in the footer. You can also manage cookies through your browser settings, though blocking essential cookies may affect how the site works.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available at getunbound.co.uk/privacy. If we make significant changes we will notify you by email where we hold your contact details.
